Banghart hired as Princeton women’s coach
PRINCETON, N.J. (AP)– Courtney Banghart was hired as Princeton’s women’s basketball coach Thursday after helping Dartmouth win two Ivy League titles as a player and two more as an assistant. Banghart replaces Richard Barron, who left to become an assistant at Baylor. She spent the past four seasons as an assistant to Chris Wielgus at Dartmouth, which won league titles in 2005 and 2006.
Perry wins Buick Open for second time
Kenny Perry has picked the perfect time to play his best golf in two-plus decades on the PGA Tour. Perry shot a 6-under 66 on Sunday to win the Buick Open by a stroke at 19 under, giving him two victories in June and his fourth top-six finish in a six-tournament run. “This is probably the longest sustained stretch in my career where I’ve played tremendous golf each and every week,” said Perry, who…

Some are weighted to grant them additional influence, so it’s more reflective of overall play than simply dollars earned.
Wie, with bandaged wrists, quits after 16 holes
Perhaps Michelle Wie will make it to her high school graduation this weekend after all. After four months off from competitive golf to heal injuries to both wrists — time she spent enjoying her final semester of high school, she says — the 17-year-old imploded in her first day back. She shot 14 over par in the opening round of the Ginn Tribute at RiverTowne Country Club in Mount Pleasant, S.C., before withdrawing with two holes to play.
